Generally, when a woman has recurring or many ovarian cysts, this is called polycystic ovarian syndrome, or PCOS. A cystic ovary usually refers to cystic ovarian disease, which affects cows, not people.
This is actually a pig ovary with many mature follicles, or cysts. It’s kind of amazing the similarities between people and animals. It’s very possible that the cattle get cystic ovarian disease from the hormones they receive to force them to produce milk. It makes you wonder if ovarian cysts in women may have a similar cause…
